👶 For kids & teens

🌟 How is ghee good for kids and teens?

⚡ Energy: ghee is energy-dense — about 45 kcal in one small teaspoon (~5g). Little tummies, lots of running around: a small amount goes a long way.
🥕 A partner for vitamins: Vitamins A, D, E and K are fat-soluble, so the body absorbs them better with fat. A little ghee on dal or sabzi helps the vitamins in food do their job.
🧠 Healthy fats: growing children and teens need a variety of healthy fats — ghee is one of them (along with nuts, eggs and flaxseed).
😋 Taste: plain dal-chawal or khichdi becomes tasty — even fussy eaters finish their plate.
🔥 Great for cooking: high smoke point (~250°C), stable for tadka, roasting and parathas.
🪔 Tradition: in Ayurveda and Indian homes, ghee has been part of children's meals for generations.

Ghee is part of a balanced diet, not a medicine. Serve in moderation and consult your doctor or paediatrician for any health concern.

💊 Which vitamins does Somum ghee have?

Vitamin A: ~57.9 µg per tablespoon (14g) — about 7% of RDA. An essential vitamin for eyes and overall health.
Vitamin E: ~63.8 µg per tablespoon (14g).
Vitamin D & K2: naturally present in small amounts in cow ghee (levels vary with season and feed).
Omega-9 (oleic acid) and butyrate (a short-chain fatty acid) also occur naturally in ghee.

Vitamin A and E values are from our product label. Lab reports

🦴 Ghee and bone health?

Strong bones need calcium, Vitamin D and Vitamin K. Vitamins D and K are fat-soluble, so a little healthy fat (like ghee) in meals helps the body absorb them.
Ghee itself isn't a source of calcium — pair it with milk, curd, paneer, ragi, sesame, leafy greens and some daily sunshine. ☀️

🌿 Ghee and digestion?

In Indian homes, ghee khichdi has always been the go-to “light meal”, and Ayurveda considers ghee good for digestion. Ghee naturally contains butyrate, a fatty acid that research links to gut health.
Too much ghee can feel heavy, though — so serve it in moderation. For any tummy issues, please consult a doctor.

👶 How much ghee should my child have?

A common guide: 1–3 years ½–1 tsp, 4+ years and teens 1–2 tsp a day — in dal-chawal, khichdi, roti or ragi.
Start small, and always check with your paediatrician — especially for babies under 1 year.

🍽️ Easy ways to add ghee to kids' meals?

½ tsp on hot dal-chawal or khichdi · on roti or paratha · in ragi or suji halwa · in sabzi tadka · ghee-roasted makhana as a snack. A little ghee on veggies also helps absorb their vitamins (like beta-carotene in carrots). 🥕

🐄 What is A2 ghee?

🪔 What is the bilona method?

Milk is set into curd, the curd is hand-churned with a wooden madhani to separate makkhan, and the makkhan is slow-cooked into ghee — the way Daadi made it. Read the full story

🔬 Is the ghee lab tested?

Yes — tested at NDDB CALF, Anand: compliant with FSSAI standards, and DNA-tested 100% A2 milk. View lab reports

🧪 What's in it?

Just one thing: ghee from A2 Gir cow milk. No preservatives, colours or chemicals. Contains dairy.
