The Somum Story
Boond Boond Mein Amrit.
It started at our own dining table

I am a mother of two. And like every mother, I wanted the best on my children's plate. In our home, as in most Indian homes, that meant a spoon of ghee on hot dal-chawal, on a fresh roti, in their very first khichdi.
So I went looking for authentic ghee. The kind my grandmother made. What I found was confusing. Labels that said “pure” but told me nothing. Ghee made from cream in big factories. Words like “A2” and “desi” everywhere, with no way to know what was true.
I kept asking one simple question: would I feel completely sure giving this to my children every single day? Most of the time, the honest answer was no.
So we decided to make it ourselves

We searched for the right farm and the right way of making ghee, and we didn't settle for shortcuts. Somum ghee begins with the A2 milk of desi Gir cows raised on a certified organic farm. The calves drink first. The milk is set into curd, churned with a traditional bilona into fresh makkhan, and slowly simmered on a low flame until it turns golden and fragrant. It takes many litres of milk to make a single jar, and that is exactly how it should be.
It is tested at NDDB CALF, Anand, one of India's most trusted dairy labs. It passed every FSSAI purity test, and the milk was confirmed as 100% A2 by DNA testing. See the lab reports.
That ghee became Somum Junior: pure bilona ghee made for kids and teens, from their very first khichdi to the busy school and sports years.
My promise to you
- Nothing hidden: what's in the jar is ghee, and only ghee. No preservatives, no additives.
- Nothing rushed: made the slow, traditional bilona way.
- Nothing I wouldn't give my own children: every jar we send to your home is the same ghee that goes on my kids' plates.
Because the years when they grow the most deserve the purest food.
